Thanks Jim for making the point so clearly that communications people need to have a beeter understanding of many of the key concepts behind business and business drivers. For us to assit organizations and provide value we must get a better grasp of this. I find that often it is the communciations people, followed to some degree by HR leaders that fail to recognize both change communications and engagement as a way of being - approaching either as a program. Neither could be further from the truth and until the level of understanding of that increased I fear that a good deal of time and money will have been wasted with an outcome of "here we go again with another program" among managers and staff being the result.
Cheers an thanks for offering such clarity....Ken
