Lawyers and high earners worst at picking up the tab

By Robin Crumby, Managing Director, Melcrum Robin Crumby

If you want a good night out with colleagues, stay clear of lawyers and high earners.

Instead, you might want to hunt down a gaggle of hairdressers or beauticians (what is the group term for hairdressers anyway?). New research from personal finance website Fool.co.uk found that the well off and members of the legal profession are the worst at buying rounds of drinks and picking up the tab.

The article published in the FT went on to say that:

It seems the ideal bar companion should pick up the tab when appropriate, but without financially crippling themselves – someone between a hairdresser and a hedge fund manager.

Somewhere between a hairdresser and a hedge fund manager? The mind boggles. Make a beeline for anyone with highlights and a stripy suit then. Happy hunting.

Robin.
