Comms Network meet-ups all around the world

By Sona Hathi, Assistant Editor, Melcrum Sona Hathi

The Communicators' Network is where to see social networking at its very best, as online groups continue to arrange face-to-face meet-ups. The second meet up of the London Area Communicators group took place last week, you can read about it on The Hub. I don't think I'd be wrong in saying that everyone who came along, took something away from it. The networking at the end was very comfortable, no awkwardness and no rushing off - because most of us had not only chatted to each other before on the Communicators' Network, but had actually debated and exchanged ideas that have been invaluable for our work.

And what's even more amazing is that this isn't just happening in London, the website and the idea of meeting online professional contacts in person, has cast its net far and wide. Some of the groups include Communicators in Mexico and Communicators in Trinidad. But one of my favourites is the very lively Communicators in India group. Members of which have already had their first meet up, with the next one being extensively planned for Wednesday 14th November in the beautiful and bustling city of Delhi, which I will have the pleasure of attending! There are around 20 people signed up for it so far, so if you're going to be in Delhi at that time, leave a comment here, join the group or get in touch with the group's administrator Sanjay Gora on the Communicators' Network and come along.

Once again, this is a great example of the opportunities social networking presents. I agree that online networking can't offer the depth you gain from personal interactions, but it's without a doubt invaluable for facilitating personal meet ups with new contacts. In the meantime, I'm really looking forward to sharing a delicious meal and a few drinks with new friends in Delhi. Photo_lg_delhi

P.S If you're planning a meet up with friends on the Communicators' Network let us know, we'd love to hear how they go.

Hi Sona,

I completely agree about how relaxed people seemed at the last meetup. For me, that was the best part of it.

Thanks Sona for kicking off with the mention of MCN MeetUps across the globe on your blog, needless to mention Special Thanks for talking so nicely about the Communicators-in-India MeetUp.

Cheers to Matt and all MCNians in Mexico, Trinidad to have initiated offline MeetUps, and best wishes to the communicators in the rest of the MCN Countries for doing so in their respective countries / areas.

Not just a Bon Voyage, we all wish you Welcome Flying to India.

See you on the 14th.
