From the floor at the Melcrum SCM summit in Sydney, Australia
Well not quite from the floor… but nearly. In fact I wrote this post the day after the event finished and am only just publishing it, with both Sue Dewhurst and Lee Hopkins beating me to the punch.
Melcrum’s 4th Annual Strategic Comunication Summit Australia completely filled the last week. I had intended to be a lot more vocal about it on this blog but it was a busy, busy few days, with little time to do anything other than work with the rest of the event team to make sure we had everything covered, with our colleagues in the UK doing an awesome job of organising things at their end too.
However, despite it being very busy it was a great week, with some fantastic lessons and a lot of learning to come out of it. We had excellent presentations over the course of the three-day event and an incredibly diverse range of attendees from the public and private sector, so it was wonderful to have so many great conversations too.
I’ll be posting a series of conference reports on this blog and also The Hub news section, over the coming week, but overall I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended, chaired, participated and helped to make the event what it was. We’re really looking forward to making next year even better.
Alex

Thanks Alex. The blogosphere has beaten the grapevine in getting the news back to old Blighty. I'm thrilled the Summit was a success this year. Word is on the street (ie Facebook) that your session was pretty good too. So well done team Australia.

Thanks Victoria. Just as Lee Hopkins said (Lee reports on the event in yesterday's episode of For Immediate Release this week - about 8 minutes in), we're all still buzzing after the event and looking forward to more.
Nerves aside I did also enjoy my session on day two (not seen the Facebook commentary though!) and it was sandwiched in between two other social media-focused presentations, so it was a good blast of a morning in that respect.

And there should be some follow-up case studies from some of the presentations hitting the Hub soon too!
