The Melcrum Podcast 25th July 2007: Shownotes
The 25th July edition of the Melcrum Podcast (11.7Mb) is now ready for you to download.
For this one, we've got two interviews with people at the cutting edge of communications;
First up is Peter Eschbach, a senior vice president with Porter Novelli (beginning at 0:20), who talks about how to create an internal communications environmental campaign.
The second bit (beginning at 7:20) is a chat between social media guru, Neville Hobson, and Sona Hathi about how to make and produce your very own podcast.

Peter flags up some great "green comms" work that companies like Eastman Chemical and Timberland have been doing. In the Hub Member Bulletin this month, he mentions how because Timberland is an outdoor clothing manufacturer, a greener world is critical to the company’s success as the majority of its products are made for hiking, climbing, camping and generally enjoying the great outdoors.
So the company is trying to make environmentally responsible living a little bit easier for its New Hampshire-based employees - by offering a US$3,000 bonus to qualified employees who purchase a hybrid vehicle. And Timberland’s best parking spaces are reserved for hybrids and “carpoolers” (those that share car journeys instead of using multiple vehicles).
But it got me thinking - what kind of incentives are you able to reasonably offer to employees of companies whose business values don't necessarily connect with a greener-thinking world? Does anyone have any suggestions for schemes that have been working well at other businesses?
