Great post - We have created a self-guided learning program for CPAs (and others) at http://www.cpalearning2.com which mirrors many of your suggestions - bottom line is you have to be ready to "play" a bit to figure out the amazing potential of these technologies. The significant "why" behind this technology are 1) Better communication to customers, clients and interna team; 2) findability/searchabaility via better search engine results; 3) Increased relevance to Generation X & Y in your workplace.
