The Blogging 4 Business conference
I've just spent an interesting morning at Custom Communications' Blogging 4 Business conference in central London. The conference is covering a lot of the same themes as the Social Media Forum, but coming at things from an external angle.
Highlights (of the morning) included Stephen Taylor,Yahoo! Europe's audience group regional vice president, who talked a lot about how the company is embracing social media, especially in the form of Flickr, the picture website, with its social tagging technology.
The other interesting speaker from the B4B morning session was Darren Strange (left). Darren is Microsoft EMEA's UK Office 2007 product manager, but more importantly for our purposes, he's the author of "The Office Rocker" blog.
Like Steve Clayton, Darren is one Microsoft's foremost bloggers, and is just as evangelical about using blogs to transform the company's evil empire image to something a little more soft and cuddly.

Social Interaction Great Inventions
By implementing the Knowledge Management software or by providing intrinsic or extrinsic awards will not help the Knowledge workers (Scientist) to share their knowledge, which is an analogy of a device which can put it on the scientist head to extract knowledge from his head and discard his body, this type is pure mechanical process won’t help to have Knowledge Management System in any organization. Most precisely, KM is not a process of sharing documents but it’s a process of sharing the insights and values of the people.
Socio-interaction is the process where Scientist can interact socially through intranet which will lead to a stronger intra-organizational bridges and group interaction and enable them to have a good attitude towards the organization, towards the job and towards the colleague which enhance the motivation to share their knowledge. In this approach, technology and process facilitates the likeminded people to form a community virtually that is through online and share their views which will be documented in the central database system.
This approach of Knowledge Management Systems is a Human Relation (HR) centric approach in which technology and process are used for leveraging the Knowledge Management System where people can combine through intranet and connect their mind to attain the organizational goals.
Finally it is not the skill or knowledge or technology or process which will keep the Knowledge Management System in any organization, it is the attitude of a knowledge worker which alone maintain the system in immaculate condition.
