Blogs vs Forums

Debbie Weil has written a great post on the subject of Blogs vs Forums, after a reader of her book e-mailed saying he, "often gets asked by colleagues what the difference between the two is."

In response, Debbie has posted some great links and "10 pros of blogs" and "10 cons of forums", with which I agree entirely. As I commented there, it's the focused and author-led content, ownership and, of course, personality that really makes a blog different for me.

Discussion forums can be great things, make no mistake, but you hear more negative than positive stories about forums in corporate environments.

What are your thoughts and experiences on the two?
