We wuz robbed!

Last night the Hub team faced bitter disappointment after losing out in the Online Award category of the 20th WorkWorld Media Awards, held at BAFTA's HQ in Piccadilly, London. The team, having rehearsed their acceptance speeches until word perfect, faced a crushing defeat by the well-deserved health and safety advisory website, Hazards (see image of the Hazards team scooping their prize). However, we took comfort in that all entrants in the Online category were up against very tough competition, including all of BBC Business Online.
Judges included David Lloyd, Professor at City University’s Journalism department, Baroness Kingsmill and Trevor Merriden, former editor of Human Resources magazine. The awards were presented by Alan Rusbridger, editor of the Guardian.
Other winners at the awards included Bill Emmott, former editor of the Economist, who picked up the AMEC lifetime achievement award.
Hey, maybe next year. Until then, onwards and upwards...

On the plus side, the food was good.
